Therapeutic exercises utilize individualized programs designed with specific goals for each patient. The physical therapist will work one-on-one with the patient to teach these specific exercises and activities to reach the goals of the rehabilitative program including improved range of motion, increased strength, normalization of gait and posture, and increase in endurance for return to routine, work and recreational activities. The exercises may include strength training both active and resistive, aerobic conditioning, stretching, and mechanics training.
