We’d like to congratulate our therapist of 18 years, Guy Shelton, PT, MA, ATC who retired from Excel in January 2018. Guy has been with our 78th & Dodge clinic since the beginning and was known as one of the most reputable therapists in Omaha. We feel fortunate to have had Guy be part of the Excel family for so many years and wish him the best in his well-deserved years of retirement.

The Excel team enjoyed their time providing physical therapy services to the cast of the Tony-nominated “Something Rotten” Musical during their tour stop in Omaha May 16th – 21st. Excel’s physical therapy staff was on hand at the Orpheum Theater to provide the services and were able to meet various actors and support team back stage before and after performances.
We are excited to announce the recipients of our 2017 Excel Physical Therapy College Scholarship. Each of the five high school seniors, who are pursing physical therapy as a career, were chosen based on their excellence in academics, extra-curricular involvement and community service activities.
Excel has awarded $51,000 over the last nine years helping a total of 51 high school seniors reach their academic and career goals.

We are very excited to announce the ninth annual Excel Physical Therapy College Scholarship. Excel will award a minimum of five (5) $1,000 scholarships to high school seniors in the graduating class of 2017.
The recipients will be selected from eligible applicants from the private and public high schools in the following school districts: Omaha, District 66, Boys Town, Elkhorn, Papillion/LaVista, Bellevue, Ralston, Millard, Council Bluffs, Fremont, Columbus and Grand Island.

Another record year is in the books!
With the help of our patients and team members, the Excel team collected an all- time high of 26,609 diapers for this year’s Channel 94.1 Omaha Diaper Drive benefiting the Lydia House. After our owners matched the collected amount, as promised, the Excel team donated a total of 53,218 diapers!
We are so thankful to our patients and team members whose generosity is more than we could imagine. Our hearts are full!

After pledging $50 for each gold medal earned by Team USA in the Summer Olympics, Excel Physical Therapy is donating a total of $2,300 to Go, Lolo, Go, a local non-profit benefiting 14-year-old Lauren Hacker. Lauren was diagnosed with Acute Myelocytic Leukemia four years ago and fights each day to win her battle with cancer. Excel is excited to announce Nicole Sova, PT, DPT, OCS recently became certified as a Clinical Specialist in Orthopedic Physical Therapy (OCS) by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties (ABPTS). Orthopedic Clinical Specialists are recognized by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties as individuals whose clinical specialization in orthopedic physical therapy demonstrates knowledge, skill, and experience exceeding that of an entry level physical therapist. Nicole is a therapist at our Papillion location.
At a minimum, therapists who receive this clinical distinction have completed 2,000 hours of direct patient care in the area of orthopedics and have successfully completed a rigorous written examination. Only 10% of physical therapists in the US are Board Certified in a specialty.
